The team had a very long and exhausting discussion on how to make the best out of the Extreme Upgrade System.
After a late-hour public voice chat on 05th March 2026 with some of our players, we announced setting up a completely new approach with a different game mechanic, based on static progression, where we wanted to eliminate the Extreme Core Reset but also the chance to break the items upon the upgrade process.
We did all the mathematics, designed and visualized the game mechanics, and also started preparing our test server with the modifications.
Unfortunately, during the setup, we faced too many system limitations (e.g., the maximum amount of used Extreme Cores and maximum limit of Alz used for an Extreme Upgrade attempt). That limitation leads almost to an incredible imbalance for the whole Extreme Upgrade system in the form of:
a. "It's too easy and too cheap for the higher upgrade stages of EU" or
b. "It's much too hard and expensive for new or mid-game players".
And it was not possible for us to find a way to serve all aspects of the Extreme Upgrade system.
That's realized and thrown back; we focused again on the given system and reviewed also many of your ideas and opinions. First in line is the result of the public vote, but also kept in mind that some of you mentioned that the system was good before we introduced the possibility to go over Extreme Upgrade Stage 7.
